Earthshine Mountain Lodge
Well, when summer's officially here, what better way to kick it off than by going up to the mountains and relaxing? Well, that's just what Mom and I did from June 16-19, 2000. On the background is one of the many beautiful vistas you can see at Earthshine near Lake Toxaway, North Carolina. We took a few great hikes and did a horseback trail ride, which really took us all around the grounds. We also did a zip course that took us dangling from a wire high in the treetops. Earthshine really has you rediscover all the natural splendor that is Earth. So from now on, I'll let the pictures do the talking. Here is my photo album for this trip. Earthshine is simply a fabulous place to spend some time!

These are some of the scenes at Earthshine. First, my mom presenting the vista, and then, the lodge where we stayed and had meals. Next is the bedroom, with its rustic tinge, and then me relaxing by another view.

First off here is the dining hall, filled with hungry folks, as always. Then you find horses grazing in the pasture. Earthshine's horses are very nice and very independent when on their own. Third is more horses grazing by the lodge, and fourth, me feeding a goat on one of the evening Barnyard Treks.

There I am in Richland Creek, getting wet. That was a fun hike! Then there are the tree houses, suspended by wires, the only entryway to which is by wire. And there's somebody traveling the zip line from the first treehouse to the ground. I did that course! And after all that, you can relax by the fireplace!
